Darwin and District Cricket Competition kicks off this weekend and it is still not clear what changes have been made to the competition. A late draw where it was allegedly proposed that lower grade cricket get postponed a week due to inabilities to rectify fixturing. Thankfully that was corrected. There are question marks around whether covers will be compulsory which would be strange given that all clubs have them on hand now and should at direction of the DCMB. B grade will finally have fielding restrictions for One Day fixtures. It’s also alleged there was concern over the two different ladders and that there was request that it be put to a vote by the presidents but it was denied.
Also pleased to announce the return of the Player of the Round, the same format as last year, however it will be only be one The Perfect Pitch hat per round and a bit more in depth than what was on the podcast/page last season. Further details around this will come. Will also be completing the number one memorable moment of 2023 in the coming week as we iron out some details. Should be a laugh.
