Tracy Village Cricket Club have multiple new faces with a new coach, captain of the men’s and president. While they’ve had a difficult season last year, the progress of the women’s side and juniors along with their off-field developments is a major plus with great committee people. Much appreciated to TV President Daniel McKeown getting back to us to complete the club preview!

Thoughts overall on the upcoming season?
The Tracy Village Cricket Club is experiencing a significant transformation under the leadership of Rick Bean and the implementation of a new cricket program. With an emphasis on a club first approach, our young playing group has bought into that vision. The addition of Jack Doyle has strengthened our coaching and leadership ranks. The major focus of our preseason is for Tracy village to be ready to go round one.
With an influx of new players our playing depth will be improve across all the grades and healthy competition for spots has to be an improvement.
How’s the women’s team looking?
Our premiership winning women's team have taken part in the preseason and their quest to go back-to-back under Frankie Ennor is made easier by retaining the majority of players from last year. Watch our junior girls push in to the team throughout the year.
Any young talent coming through?
We have run a very successful blast program with big numbers of volunteer assistants. This has already filtered back to the club, in two under 9's teams this season and other junior grades with increased numbers. Our long-term focus is to develop senior cricketers to play in our first eleven.
This year we are seeing a better connection with our senior and junior programs by linking those together. Our vision of good people, good cricketers and lifelong enjoyment will help foster a love of the game and in time develop players however this takes time.
Our junior ranks have many green shoots. Many of these kids will start to push into senior cricket over the next few years and this can only help the club move forward. Developing our home-grown talent is something we need to continue to work on and a big focus for our club.
Predictions for the coming season?
None. We are the under dogs with nothing to lose.
Had any issues over the off season?
Nothing that other clubs don't have.
Thoughts on no cricket 365
No Official notice to my knowledge.
To be fair, NT cricket has worked hard in the school space, the fight for kids to play cricket against other sports is very much a battle at club land. If that is where the cricket 365 resources, go then I have no problem with that.
I would like the top end series players to get far more involved with all DDCA clubs and schools.
Visuals of the pitch look good, how’s is it shaping up?
Our curating team have the pitch ready to go for round one and in very good order. The grass coverage is much better than last year. We will redo the entire irrigation system and pumps in the near future.
Appreciate your time and all the best for 2024.
